About The Position

DSI Security Services is hiring a Campus Security Officer in Coconut Grove, Florida, to help maintain a safe and secure learning environment for students, faculty, staff, parents, and visitors. The officer provides professional, customer-focused security services in accordance with client requirements and DSI post orders. The role requires situational awareness, professionalism, and effective interaction with students and the public. The scheduled hours are 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The stated pay rate is $18.00 per hour. Officers must remain at their assigned posts until properly relieved and comply with DSI and client policies, post instructions, and the Code of Ethics. Required screenings include a criminal background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.

Requirements

Minimum age of 21.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid State of Florida Class D Security License.
Valid driver’s license.
Reliable transportation and a means of communication.
Ability to perform routine foot patrols and mobile patrols, lift moderately, and work in all weather conditions.
Must pass required background checks and drug screenings.
Strong customer service orientation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Intermediate computer skills.

Nice To Haves

Five years of experience in security or law enforcement.
Experience working with children or youth is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, parents, and visitors.
Provide general security services in accordance with client requirements and DSI post orders.
Remain visible to deter unacceptable behavior and promote campus safety.
Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, including fights, medical incidents, and other security concerns.
Observe, correct, and report hazards, incidents, and suspicious activity.
Interact professionally with students, parents, staff, visitors, and members of the public.
Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other security personnel.
Remain at the assigned post until properly relieved.
Complete required reports and documentation accurately and on time.
Comply with DSI and client policies, post instructions, and Code of Ethics.
Participate in required training and ongoing security education.
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
