About The Position

DSI Security Services is hiring a Campus Security Officer in the Coconut Grove, Florida area to support a safe and secure learning environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The officer maintains campus safety while providing professional, customer-focused security services. The role requires situational awareness, professionalism, and effective interaction with students, parents, staff, and the public. The position pays $18.00 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The officer follows client requirements and DSI post orders, responds to emergencies, observes and reports hazards or suspicious activity, completes documentation, and participates in required training. Candidates must pass required background checks and drug screening.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid State of Florida Class D Security License.
Valid driver's license.
Reliable transportation and a means of communication.
Strong customer service orientation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Intermediate computer skills.
Ability to perform routine foot patrols and mobile patrols, lift moderately, and work in all weather conditions.
Pass all required background checks and drug screenings.

Nice To Haves

Five years of experience in security or law enforcement.
Experience working with children or youth.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, parents, and visitors.
Provide general security services in accordance with client requirements and DSI post orders.
Remain visible to deter unacceptable behavior and promote campus safety.
Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, including fights, medical incidents, and other security concerns.
Observe, correct, and report hazards, incidents, and suspicious activity.
Interact professionally with students, parents, staff, visitors, and members of the public.
Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other security personnel.
Remain at the assigned post until properly relieved.
Complete required reports and documentation accurately and on time.
Comply with DSI and client policies, post instructions, and Code of Ethics.
Participate in required training and ongoing security education.
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
