About The Position

First Student is hiring part-time School Bus Monitors/Aides for Coxsackie-Athens Central School District in Coxsackie, New York. The role supports the bus driver in providing students with a safe journey to and from school. No prior School Bus Monitor experience is required; training and safety programs are provided. The position requires English proficiency for training, safety communications, company policies, employment documents, and other job-related communications.

The schedule consists of flexible weekday split shifts for morning and afternoon routes, with no nights, weekends, holidays, or summers. The hourly rate is $18.00–$19.00, depending on experience and qualifications. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible split shifts (AM/PM).
• Physical ability to assist students and perform emergency procedures.
• Friendly, reliable, and patient when working with children.
• Team-oriented, with a focus on safety.
• English proficiency for job-related training and communications.

Nice To Haves

• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help students safely board and exit the bus.
• Assist children with special needs during transport.
• Ensure students remain seated and follow bus safety rules.
• Communicate with the driver to maintain a safe, calm ride.
• Provide care and encouragement to students each day.
• Assist students and perform emergency procedures as needed.
