About The Position

Durham School Services is hiring School Bus Drivers to transport students on local routes to and from school, sports, field trips, and other events. No prior commercial driving experience or CDL is required to start; paid CDL training is provided. Drivers receive $29.65 per hour for routed work and $19.50 per hour during paid training. The position offers a flexible, part-time split-shift schedule, with guaranteed hours of 20 per week and opportunities for extra routes and field trips. Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; a CDL is not required to start.
• Must have held a driver's license for at least three years, or five years in Tennessee or Washington.
• Minimum age of 21, or 25 in Tennessee.
• If the applicant held a DOT-regulated driving role in the past three years, that employment must be verifiable under DOT guidelines.
• Pass a DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Comply with DOT regulations; marijuana use is prohibited, including medical use.
• Reliable attendance and a safety-first attitude.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus on assigned local routes.
• Transport students to and from school, sports, and events.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain a clean, safe bus environment.
• Communicate courteously with students, parents, and school staff.
• Follow all federal, state, local, and company safety rules.
