About The Position

Summit School Services is hiring School Bus Drivers to transport students safely on local routes to and from school, sports, field trips, and other events. No prior experience or CDL is required to start; paid CDL training is provided, including help obtaining an initial CDL permit and paid training to complete the license process.

The role offers a flexible part-time schedule with morning and afternoon split shifts, no nights or weekends, and guaranteed hours of six hours per day at the advertised location. Seasonal employment with summers off is an option. Drivers may have opportunities for extra routes and field trips. The posted pay is $23.35 per hour, with benefits and a $1,500 hiring bonus for fully credentialed drivers only. Pay and employment terms may vary by location and position.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; no CDL is needed to start.
• Must have held a driver's license for at least three years, or five years if applying in Tennessee or Washington.
• Minimum age of 21, or 25 in Tennessee.
• If the applicant held a DOT-regulated driving role in the past three years, that employment must be verifiable per DOT guidelines.
• Pass a DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Comply with DOT regulations; marijuana use is prohibited, including medical use.
• Reliable attendance and a safety-first attitude.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus on assigned local routes.
• Transport students to and from school, sports, and events.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain a clean, safe bus environment.
• Communicate courteously with students, parents, and school staff.
• Follow all federal, state, local, and company safety rules.
