About The Position

The Goddard School is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic School Age Teacher to work with children ages 5–12. The role involves creating engaging experiences and supporting children’s social, emotional, and academic development in a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–9:00 AM and 3:00 PM–6:00 PM, with additional hours available on MCPS days off, early dismissal days, and school breaks. Compensation is $18.00–$23.00 per hour. Each school location is privately owned and operated by a Goddard School franchisee, who sets wages and benefits that may vary by location.

Requirements

• Experience working with school-age children ages 5–12.
• Strong classroom management and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must meet all state licensing and background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children ages 5–12 and ensure their safety.
• Plan and lead engaging recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
• Support children’s social, emotional, and academic development.
• Communicate effectively with families and team members.
