About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a part-time Site Co-Director for its before- and after-school program at Los Ninos Elementary School in Las Vegas, New Mexico. The role provides leadership for a safe, organized, structured, and engaging environment for school-age children. The Co-Director plans and leads activities such as arts and crafts, STEAM projects, fitness games, academic activities, and homework support, while coordinating with staff and communicating with families.

The position is part-time and non-exempt, paying $20.00–$22.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Thursday from 3:35 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Friday hours vary between 7:20 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Some experience managing or mentoring staff.
• Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks.
• Credential/associate pathway: one of a CDA, CCP, Montessori certification, National Administrator Credential (NAC), or associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, plus at least two years of experience in early childhood or a school-age/out-of-school-time setting.
• Bachelor’s pathway: bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education or a related field, plus at least one year of experience in early childhood or school-age care.
• Passion for working with children; organization and attention to detail; leadership; strong communication with families, school staff, and supervisor; and calmness, flexibility, and resourcefulness.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working directly with school building staff.
• Familiarity with state childcare or school-age licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure staff and program operations comply with state regulations, Healthy Kids policies, and host school requirements.
• Plan and lead hands-on activities aligned with the Healthy Kids curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and homework support.
• Oversee daily operations, including attendance tracking, registration updates, scheduling, and staffing support.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with parents and caregivers using the Playground App.
• Work with the direct supervisor and team to share updates, solve problems proactively, and maintain a positive, supportive program culture.
• Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging environment for children.
