About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a part-time Site Director for its before- and after-school program at Los Ninos Elementary School in Las Vegas, New Mexico. The role offers $20.00–$22.00 per hour and is non-exempt. The schedule is Monday through Thursday from 3:35 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Friday hours vary between 7:20 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The Site Director leads a safe, structured, engaging program for school-age children. The position includes planning and leading activities such as arts and crafts, STEAM projects, fitness games, academic activities, and homework support. The director also oversees daily program operations, supports staffing, communicates with families and school staff, and ensures compliance with applicable regulations and program requirements.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Some experience managing or mentoring staff.
• Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks.
• Option A: One of the following credentials: CDA (Child Development Associate), CCP (Child Care Professional), Montessori certification, National Administrator Credential (NAC), or an associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; plus at least 2 years of experience in early childhood or a school-age/out-of-school-time setting.
• Option B: A bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education or a related field, plus at least 1 year of experience in early childhood or school-age care.
• Passion for working with children, strong organization, leadership, communication, flexibility, resourcefulness, empathy, and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working directly with school building staff.
• Familiarity with state childcare or school-age licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure staff and program operations meet state regulations, Healthy Kids policies, and host school requirements.
• Plan and lead hands-on activities aligned with the Healthy Kids curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and homework support.
• Oversee daily operations, including attendance tracking, registration updates, scheduling, and staffing support.
• Communicate consistently with parents and caregivers using the Playground App.
• Collaborate with the direct supervisor and team to share updates, solve problems proactively, and maintain a positive, supportive program culture.
