About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our After School Program at Wells Memorial School for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with children and are seeking a schedule that aligns with the school day. The program focuses on helping children learn through play and positive experiences, encouraging their curiosity, creativity, and confidence. The assistant will work with teammates and communicate effectively with families, ensuring a reliable, organized, and committed approach to providing exceptional care.

Requirements

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
