About The Position

The YMCA is seeking an experienced professional who is passionate about supporting children, engaging with the community, and creating a fun environment. The Lead Teacher helps run a before- or after-school daycare program, supports children through learning and daily activities, and assists the site director with program operations. The position is based in Breinigsville, Pennsylvania, and is full time, hourly, with Monday–Friday split shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pay is $17.00–$20.00 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• At least 2 years of experience working with children.
• High school diploma or some college credits.
• At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in a child care setting.
• Passion for working with children in a fun, diverse environment.
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances.

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help children learn.
• Be patient and kind with parents.
• Assist the site director with the day-to-day functions of the before- or after-school daycare program.
• Guide children through activities, snack time, homework, and other parts of the program.
