School Age Child Care Assistant
About The Position
The School Age Child Care Assistant supports a before- or after-school daycare program for the 2026–2027 school year in Northampton, Pennsylvania. The position is part-time and hourly, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.–9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. The work location will be discussed during the interview. The hourly pay range is $15.50–$17.00. The role is suited to an experienced professional who enjoys helping children learn and develop, connecting with the community, and contributing to a fun, diverse environment. The assistant works with children and parents and assists the site director with the day-to-day functions of the program.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have at least 2 years of experience working with children.
- Have a high school diploma or some college credits.
- Have at least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in a child care setting.
- Be passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment.
- Be able to pass all relevant clearances.
Responsibilities
- Find new and engaging ways to help children learn.
- Interact patiently and kindly with parents.
- Assist the site director with the day-to-day functions of the before- or after-school daycare program.
- Help children with activities, snack time, homework, and related program activities.
