About The Position

TelevisaUnivision is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduling Coordinator to support Univision Noticias. This role involves scheduling all long-form programming for a streaming news service based on strategic direction from a supervisor. The coordinator will develop fluency in using scheduling software, execute workflows for a flawless on-air experience, and create, capture, and edit all content metadata in systems as needed. They will also generate and maintain schedule grids, prepare and distribute weekly programming notifications, and maintain internal and external distribution lists for the programming department. Additionally, the role includes creating, maintaining, and setting program formats, monitoring network playout and adjusting for breaking news, and being available on-call after hours and weekends as necessary. The coordinator will produce work orders for promotional materials and schedule short-form elements like promos, graphics, news briefs, and crawls. They will also execute and track promotional and advertising campaigns and generate reports, while partnering with various departments including News Production, Art Department, Ad Sales, Marketing, Business Affairs, and Content Management. Ad-hoc assignments will also be part of the role.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of Program Scheduling, Playlist Management, Media Planning, Promo Scheduling or similar experience in a broadcast/cable television or digital environment.
  • Strong computer and technical skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software and accessing systems on-site and remotely as required.
  • Self-starter, resourceful, adaptable and able to work well under pressure and on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Thinks strategically and creatively.
  • Bi-Lingual - Fluent in English and Spanish (read and write)
  • Strong knowledge of television content, streaming brands and how they relate to both Univision’s goals and the viewer’s experience.
  • Interest in audience demographics and viewership metrics.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Responsibilities

  • Schedule all long-form programming for streaming news service based on strategic direction from supervisor.
  • Develop fluency in using the scheduling software and executing workflows for a flawless on-air experience.
  • Create, capture and edit all content metadata in systems as needed.
  • Generate and maintain schedule grids (24 hour and weekly) for internal distribution and on Sharepoint.
  • Help prepare and distribute weekly programming notifications, such as premieres, TV listings and updates.
  • Maintain internal and external distribution lists for programming department.
  • Create, maintain, and set program formats on the grid level as well as live or server events.
  • Review formats on a quarterly basis and make recommendations for revisions as needed to support business objectives.
  • Monitor the Network Playout and adjust as needed for breaking news and content issues.
  • Be available on call after hours and weekends as necessary to revise playlist, trigger breaking news or support News team needs.
  • Produce work orders for promotional materials that communicate strategy, objectives and deadlines.
  • Schedule all short form elements including promos, graphics, news briefs and crawls.
  • Execute and track promotional and advertising campaigns for internal and external clients and generate reports (AS-RUNS).
  • Partner with News Production, Art Department, Ad Sales, Marketing, Business Affairs and Content Management.
  • Perform ad-hoc assignments as needed.
