About The Position

Albany Medical Center is hiring a Scheduling and Patient Services Lead for its Movement Disorders Clinic in Albany. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week role works Monday through Friday during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The successful candidate will work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical setting, supporting front- and/or back-office coordination and patient services. The position may require access to sensitive information, including HIPAA-protected health information; employees must limit access and disclosure to the minimum necessary and protect information from unauthorized access or modification in accordance with system policies and applicable requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree.
• Three to five years of office experience or three years of related experience in a medical practice.
• Experience using an electronic health record and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Practice Coordinator or Manager to coordinate front-office activities, including check-in and check-out, and/or back-office activities.
• Answer incoming phone calls and direct them appropriately to team members.
• Interact with a diverse patient population.
• Use the electronic medical record to maintain patient records through scanning or registration.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments, including check-in and check-out.
• Coordinate patient referrals and prior authorizations for additional diagnostic testing or procedures as needed.
• Schedule surgical procedures when applicable to Surgery Departments.
