About The Position

Catholic Health Physician Practices is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Scheduler to coordinate diagnostic testing, obtain insurance authorizations, and support a smooth, positive experience for patients and physician practices. The role coordinates testing with hospital departments and physician practices, maintains patient charts and medical records, and manages insurance and demographic information in the scheduling system. The Scheduler also communicates with patients and physician practices about schedules, authorization requirements, and related matters while providing assistance with insurance questions and following hospital confidentiality policies.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
At least three years of hospital or medical practice scheduling experience.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to coordinate multiple schedules and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of medical terminology.
Current ICD-9/CPT coding knowledge.

Responsibilities

Obtain prior authorizations and referrals required by insurance companies for diagnostic testing procedures.
Schedule diagnostic testing in coordination with hospital departments and physician practices.
Prepare and reconcile patient charts and maintain accurate medical records.
Obtain and enter valid insurance information and patient demographics into the scheduling system.
Maintain communication with physician practices regarding patient testing schedules and requirements.
Provide customer service and assistance with insurance-related questions and issues.
Communicate with patients in a timely and efficient manner about testing schedules, insurance authorizations, and related correspondence.
Ensure patient information is accurate, complete, and handled in accordance with hospital policies and confidentiality requirements.
