About The Position

The Scheduler sets up exams, procedures, and tests for patients and handles customer service inquiries. The role supports smooth operations by obtaining accurate and complete patient and insurance information, educating patients about preparation, and maintaining patient records and site-specific protocols.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

• Prior scheduling experience.
• Two years of experience, preferably in health care.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone calls and contact patients to determine the appropriate exam, test, or procedure and schedule it appropriately.
• Review screening forms and obtain or verify patient and insurance information for accuracy and completeness.
• Explain exam, test, or procedure preparation to patients and answer related questions.
• Update patient records with notes needed by technologists, customers, or for future reference.
• Follow site-specific protocols and keep protocol documentation up to date.
