About The Position

The Scanning Associate is responsible for entering, processing, retrieving, and filing reports and store or company procedures, and maintaining store-level scanning information. The role includes scheduled host batch maintenance, entering sale items into the computer and removing them when sales end, maintaining accurate shelf tags, and completing price checks so that store pricing is correct and department work supports the store’s financial interests. The associate must also complete other assigned duties in a timely manner. This position works in a retail store environment with varied temperatures and possible exposure to outdoor weather conditions. The associate may be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs. Travel requirements vary by assignment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Computer proficiency, including email and spreadsheets.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
Detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Execute store price changes in strict accordance with specified procedures.
Regularly check shelves throughout the entire store.
Order shelf tags for missing or new items, put them up when received, and verify the system.
Verify the accuracy of each UPC-marked item in the store against the file.
Notify Store Management when products or supplies need to be ordered.
Train others to perform department activities and functions.
Handle spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines.
Maintain familiarity with products carried in each department.
Maintain records of price verification for internal audits.
Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.
Perform item-location duties.
Follow PPE and safety guidelines, food safety and cleaning expectations, and guest experience guidelines.
Complete other assigned duties, including tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.
