About The Position

The Scale Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing scales and other electronic equipment throughout the plant. The role requires learning and following state and federal codes related to scales. The technician will develop creative solutions and engineering improvements that increase production and reduce costs, take ownership of projects through completion, and support production needs. This position is based in Grand Island, Nebraska, and is listed as second shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Strong working knowledge of AC and DC electricity.
• Ability to quickly learn state and federal codes related to scales.
• Ability to diagnose and repair printers and labelers, including direct and thermal-transfer systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair scales according to state and federal codes.
• Knowledge of metal detection systems and installation methods.
• Knowledge of and ability to program HMI software, including Wonderware and RSView.
• Ability to install and diagnose variable-frequency and servo drives.
• Knowledge of barcodes and printing and scanning methods.
• Motivated self-starter able to take on and complete projects.

Nice To Haves

• College experience is recommended.
• Component-level electronics knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair scales in accordance with state and federal codes.
• Install and diagnose variable-frequency and servo drives.
• Support production needs and take on projects through completion.
