About The Position
Turner Industries Group is seeking Journeyman Scaffold Builders for various locations in and around Pasadena, Texas. The role performs routine duties within established policies and reports to a Supervisor. Candidates must be local; the positions do not offer per diem or relocation assistance. The schedule is 40–50-plus hours and is subject to change. Candidates must pass a craft test and safety council courses in English, as well as required pre-employment screening. The Scaffold Builder assembles and dismantles scaffolding to job specifications. Work includes inspecting the surface for holes, objects, and levelness; assembling scaffolds with guardrails, mid-rails, braces, planks, toe boards, screens, and wheels; rolling scaffolds into position; and tying them to permanent structures. The position requires four years of experience in the specified skill, depending on mechanic level. Additional qualification and job-site requirements include a written pre-employment qualification test, post-offer drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation, Hazard Communication orientation and test, company indoctrination, OSHA-approved corrective eyewear (Z87), job-site orientation, and compliance with client-specific safety requirements and equipment requirements. Requirements
- Four years of experience in the specified skill, depending on mechanic level.
- Pass a written pre-employment qualification test.
- Pass a post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
- Complete Hazard Communication orientation and test.
- Complete Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination.
- Have OSHA-approved corrective eyewear (Z87).
- Complete job-site orientation.
- Meet client-required job-site safety requirements, which may include being clean-shaven, wearing long sleeves, and wearing steel-toe boots.
- Use safety equipment required by the client, which may include a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, and safety harness with lanyard.
- Pass a craft test and safety council courses in English.
- Must be local to the Pasadena, Texas area; no per diem or relocation assistance is offered.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of themselves or others in the workplace.
Responsibilities
- Inspect surfaces for holes, objects, and levelness.
- Assemble scaffolding to job specifications, including guardrails, mid-rails, braces, planks, toe boards, screens, and wheels.
- Roll scaffolding into position.
- Secure scaffolding to permanent structures by tying it.
- Dismantle scaffolding to job specifications.
