About The Position

Apex Geotech Solutions is hiring a Sawyer to cut raw materials according to production specifications while maintaining accuracy, safety, and quality. The role involves operating saws and cutting equipment, interpreting work orders and drawings, inspecting materials, recording production information, and supporting general shop operations. The position is based at one of the listed locations: Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; Brookville, Pennsylvania; Kilgore, Texas; or Houston, Texas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Standing and walking for extended periods, manual dexterity to operate saws and handling tools, repetitive motion, and occasional heavy lifting.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience operating industrial saws or similar machinery; listed as preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate saws and cutting equipment to prepare materials according to work orders and drawings.
• Measure, mark, and cut steel, aluminum, or other materials to precise dimensions.
• Review production schedules, blueprints, and work orders to determine material requirements.
• Inspect materials before and after cutting for defects, correct length, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of materials cut, scrap, and completed work.
• Follow company safety protocols, including proper PPE use and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of saws and work areas.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members about production needs or equipment issues.
• Assist with material handling, inventory organization, and general shop duties as assigned.
