SAT/ACT Test Prep Tutor - In-Home & Online
About The Position
Tutor Doctor Chandler-Gilbert-Ahwatukee is hiring tutors to provide personalized SAT and ACT test preparation to students across the East Valley of Arizona. Tutoring is available in students’ homes and online. Tutors are matched with students based on subject expertise, teaching style, student goals, preferred travel area, and availability, and can choose their preferred cities, travel radius, subjects, and schedule. The local team handles client acquisition, billing, family communication, scheduling coordination, and administrative logistics, allowing tutors to focus on instruction. Tutors receive local team support, student notes and assessments, instructional resources, professional autonomy, and access to a test-prep course with practice problems and tests. Compensation is $20–$35 per hour, with rates up to $40 per hour for select students and specialized assignments, plus performance bonuses. Pay is semi-monthly.
Requirements
- Be currently enrolled in college or have completed a college degree.
- Have a strong command of SAT and/or ACT content areas, including math, reading, writing, and science reasoning.
- Have a background as a teacher, education professional, or test-prep specialist.
- Have high personal scores on AP exams, the SAT, or the ACT.
- Be able to adapt instruction to different learning styles and pacing needs.
- Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and consistent follow-through.
- Have reliable transportation for in-home tutoring assignments.
- Understand testing and pacing strategies.
Responsibilities
