About The Position

Accenture is hiring an SAP Utilities Billing professional to help regulated electric, gas, and water utilities modernize meter-to-cash and billing capabilities using SAP IS-U. The role combines hands-on SAP IS-U Billing and rate configuration with knowledge of utility tariffs and rate structures for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The consultant translates complex tariffs and regulatory requirements into scalable billing solutions that support billing accuracy, revenue assurance, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and customer experience. The consultant delivers SAP Utilities transformation programs, partnering with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams spanning Rates, Regulatory, Billing, Customer Service, Metering, Finance, Testing, Integration, and Data. Work may cover requirements and solution design through configuration, testing, cutover, go-live, and production stabilization. The role may require travel depending on business needs and client requirements, and involves collaboration with global delivery teams, coaching junior colleagues, and contributing to SAP Utilities assets and delivery practices.

Requirements

At least 3 years of functional SAP IS-U Billing experience, including hands-on configuration or functional delivery experience.
At least 1 year of hands-on experience designing or configuring SAP IS-U billing rates, schemas, rate categories, operands, and billing-related master data.
Experience with complex utility rate structures, such as Time-of-Use, tiered, demand-based, seasonal, residential, commercial, or industrial tariffs.
At least one end-to-end SAP IS-U or SAP Utilities implementation in a functional, configuration, or delivery role, including support for requirements, solution design, configuration, testing, billing validation, defect resolution, cutover, and/or hypercare.
Strong understanding of regulated electric, gas, or water utility billing processes.
Understanding of end-to-end Meter-to-Cash processes and integration among Metering, Billing, Customer Service, FICA, and Finance.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years of work experience); an Associate's degree requires at least 6 years of equivalent work experience.

Experience with complex commercial and industrial rate structures.
Experience with Time-of-Use, dynamic pricing, net metering, distributed energy, or demand-based billing.
Experience with SAP IS-U Device Management, Meter Reading, FICA, or Customer Service integration.
Experience interpreting utility tariff and regulatory requirements and translating them into system designs.
Experience with billing validation, revenue assurance, parallel billing, or complex bill reconciliation.
Experience applying AI or GenAI to billing analysis, test automation, exception management, or utility operations.
Experience supporting workshops and design decisions across system build, testing, cutover, go-live, and stabilization.
Experience collaborating across global delivery teams in an onshore/offshore model.

Responsibilities

Lead SAP IS-U Billing and Rate Design activities across large-scale utility transformation programs.
Work with utility Billing, Rates, Regulatory, Customer Service, Finance, Metering, and Operations stakeholders to define billing requirements and future-state processes.
Design, configure, and support SAP IS-U Billing solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
Translate utility tariffs and regulatory requirements into SAP rate structures, rate categories, rate types, billing schemas, operands, and related billing configuration.
Design solutions for Time-of-Use pricing, tiered rates, demand charges, seasonal rates, complex commercial and industrial tariffs, and other utility rate structures.
Support billing capabilities related to net metering, distributed energy programs, and evolving utility regulatory programs where applicable.
Analyze billing, consumption, rate, and customer data for solution design, testing, conversion, defect analysis, and cutover readiness.
Partner with Metering, Device Management, Customer Service, FICA, Finance, Integration, and Data teams to maintain end-to-end Meter-to-Cash process integrity.
Develop and execute billing test scenarios covering rate calculations, bill determinants, customer segments, billing exceptions, and complex tariff conditions.
Lead or support requirements, solution design, configuration, unit testing, SIT, UAT, defect triage, cutover, go-live, and production stabilization.
Help clients improve billing accuracy, revenue assurance, regulatory compliance, and customer experience.
Identify opportunities to use SAP Business AI and GenAI for billing analysis, test automation, exception management, and operational productivity.
Collaborate with business, technology, testing, training, client, and offshore teams in a Global Delivery model.
Coach analysts and junior consultants and contribute to SAP Utilities assets, accelerators, and delivery best practices.
