About The Position

Accenture is hiring an SAP IS-U ABAP Developer Consultant to lead technical design and delivery of SAP custom development and extensibility solutions on S/4HANA and SAP BTP. The role focuses primarily on ABAP Cloud, RAP, CAP, Fiori, and Clean Core methodologies, helping clients transition from classic ABAP through custom-code remediation and adoption of released APIs. The consultant owns technical design for workstreams, conducts code reviews, architecture sign-offs, and design workshops, and guides global delivery teams. The role also includes using SAP Business AI capabilities such as Generative AI Hub and Joule Studio where applicable, and advising client stakeholders while working hands-on with SAP development technologies. Travel may be required from 0 to 100%, depending on business needs and client requirements.

Requirements

At least 3 years developing SAP applications using S/4HANA ABAP (NetWeaver 7.4/7.5) and ABAP Cloud.
At least 2 years of experience with SAP BTP tools and services, including the latest Application Development and Automation stack.
At least 1 year of experience with SAP IS-U and related technologies.
At least 2 years of data modeling using CDS views, AMDP, OData, or related custom development.
At least 1 year of SAP custom development using Fiori-first, Clean Core, and BTP side-by-side approaches, including RAP.
Prior experience in a consulting or advisory role.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or at least 12 years of work experience; an associate's degree requires at least 6 years of equivalent work experience.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience delivering SAP Utilities solutions in areas such as Customer Service, Meter-to-Cash, Billing, FICA, Device Management, Work Management, Asset Management, or Energy Data Management.
At least 1 year of experience with Cloud Application Programming (CAP).
Experience leading or contributing to large-scale SAP Utilities transformations, including SAP IS-U to SAP S/4HANA migrations, CIS modernization programs, or cloud adoption initiatives.
Experience with SAP Build Apps, Build Process Automation, Build Work Zone, CAP (Node.js/Java), and event-driven architectures on SAP BTP.
Experience implementing modern SAP engineering practices, including gCTS, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, DevOps, and cloud-native development frameworks.
Practical experience with SAP Business AI, Joule, Joule Studio, Generative AI Hub, RAG-based solutions, or AI-assisted development accelerators.
Strong understanding of Utilities industry business processes, regulatory requirements, customer operations, and digital customer engagement platforms.
Experience advising client leadership on architecture decisions, development governance, and innovation roadmaps.
Contributions to SAP accelerators, reusable assets, thought leadership, innovation initiatives, or technical communities.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, build, and test of SAP custom development and extensibility solutions on S/4HANA and BTP using ABAP Cloud, RAP, CAP, Fiori, and Clean Core methodologies.
Drive the transition from classic ABAP to Clean Core, including custom-code remediation and adoption of released APIs.
Own technical design for workstreams and conduct code reviews, architecture sign-offs, and design workshops.
Use Generative AI Hub and Joule Studio to incorporate SAP Business AI into development where applicable.
Guide and mentor global delivery teams and communicate across technical levels and geographies.
Advise senior client stakeholders and support architecture, development governance, and innovation decisions.
Travel as required by business needs and client requirements, potentially from 0 to 100%.
