About The Position

The Sanitor maintains a consistently safe and clean working environment at WinCo Foods’ Distribution Center. The role includes warehouse housekeeping, spill cleanup, waste sorting and recycling, pest monitoring, sanitation of product storage areas, and removal of damaged or contaminated goods. The Sanitor also performs certain facility support tasks and operates powered industrial equipment in accordance with safety and certification standards.

Work takes place in a 24/7 warehouse environment, including freezer areas as cold as -12°F, chilled areas around 34°F with high humidity, and ambient non-air-conditioned warehouse areas. The position requires working various shifts and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and performing physical tasks throughout the shift. The stated pay range is USD $20.57–$29.64 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to work in environments ranging from -12°F freezer conditions to 34°F high-humidity chilled areas and ambient non-air-conditioned warehouse areas.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, empty, clean, and replace warehouse trash and recycling containers, and dispose of materials appropriately.
• Clean spills from damaged products and follow safety procedures for handling and disposing of spilled materials; monitor and replace mop buckets as needed.
• Remove debris from aisles, product slots, dock areas, and battery storage areas to maintain clear, safe paths.
• Gather broken pallets and plastic-filled bins and load them onto designated trailers for recycling at the Reclamation Center.
• Perform support tasks as needed, including refilling propane tanks, replacing burned-out dock lights, restocking shrink wrap, and replacing string-cutter blades.
• Unload plastic pallet trailers and fill and maintain marked plastic pallet slots.
• Clean spilled bulk and non-boxed products, conduct daily pest spot-checks, monitor and replace rodent traps, and report issues to supervisors.
• Maintain water drains in high-humidity storage rooms and sanitation areas, report drainage issues to facility maintenance, and remove freezer ice build-up to prevent slip hazards.
• Promptly remove damaged or contaminated products from designated bins, load them onto trailers for Reclamation Center processing, and sanitize or replace bins as needed.
• Identify unnecessary or excessive product disposals and communicate concerns to supervisors.
• Retrieve cases from reserve slots or racking up to 32 feet high using a man-up forklift, following its safe-operating standards and certification requirements.
• Sweep and scrub concrete floors using a powered sweeper/scrubber and remove standing water in perishable areas, following equipment safety standards.
• Deep-clean ground-level storage slots as needed by removing products and debris and scrubbing and sanitizing surrounding areas.
• Follow safety procedures and policies, comply with OSHA standards, and maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Complete daily task-sheet assignments, stay focused and on task throughout the shift, and meet cleanliness standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
