Sanitation (3rd Shift)
About The Position
The Sanitation position assists with daily sanitation cleanup throughout the plant and is expected to use time productively and efficiently. The role performs assigned sanitation and cleaning tasks, including painting, scraping, downtime and special cleanups, and related mechanical work. It also follows safety procedures for sanitation and chemical use, maintains required logs, assists janitorial staff as directed, and operates equipment using panel views. The successful candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to solve problems and stay on task, and able to work with limited supervision. The role requires following written and verbal instructions, reading safety and operating documents, communicating in English as required, and working in accordance with food-industry sanitation and product-safety practices. The work environment is usually moderately noisy. The listed hourly pay range is $16–$16.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English commensurate with the position's requirements.
- Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, sanitation practices, and Product Trace & Recovery in the food industry.
- Personal hygiene must meet company and government sanitation requirements.
- Must abide by company safety rules and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned plant sanitation duties, including painting and scraping.
- Follow assigned sanitation procedures during downtime cleanups.
- Perform tasks assigned during special cleanups.
- Complete mechanical tasks using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Perform other related work as required and other duties as assigned.
- Comply with safety regulations and use safe methods for sanitation and chemical handling.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the QA Manager or Supervisor.
- Maintain required logs.
- Assist janitorial staff as directed.
- Use panel views to operate equipment.
