About The Position

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the division building and related property. The role is located at Stock Yards Hawthorne, CA, and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime noted. The worker maintains warehouse and facility cleanliness, addresses spills and damaged product under applicable food-safety requirements, performs light maintenance, documents work, and may use warehouse equipment.

Requirements

Able to read and write legibly and follow orders.
Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Able to work with little direct supervision.

Nice To Haves

High school education or GED preferred.
Previous custodial experience preferred.
Experience operating warehouse equipment, including reach trucks, pallet jacks, sweepers, floor scrubbers, bailers, and hydraulic trash compactors.

Responsibilities

Sweep and clean the entire warehouse to maintain required cleanliness levels.
Empty trash bins, clean the trash area daily, and operate the trash compactor when applicable.
Pull pallets and clean or scrub product bays on a rotating basis.
Clean spills or breakages involving inventoried product, recoup damages, and determine whether product can be resold or must be disposed of under government and U.S. Foodservice food-safety requirements.
Perform assigned light maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, collecting recyclable materials, arranging paper and shrink-wrap pickup, and checking freezers and coolers for leaks or ice buildup.
Prepare reports and forms documenting cleaning schedules, spills, and product damage; may track and order maintenance supplies.
Clean other warehouse and office areas, including break rooms, rest rooms, test kitchens, and offices, as needed.
Maintain facility grounds and dumpster areas.
Operate a scrubber, pallet jack, and high lift as required to perform duties.
