About The Position

The Pictsweet Company is hiring Sanitation Workers for its Sanitation department. The role is responsible for keeping production processing equipment and machinery, as well as work areas, clean and orderly. Workers use water, soap, and cleaning solutions to wash processing equipment, remove refuse and discarded product, clean walls and floors, and clean equipment and related areas. The position requires following company safety guidelines and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) before beginning work.

Requirements

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, 6–7 days per week.
• Ability to work weekends, including holidays.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, if necessary.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Some formal education is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and signs, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Wash, scrub, and hose down processing equipment and machinery, such as tanks, vats, and conveyor belts, using water, soap, and cleaning solutions.
• Pick up refuse, litter, and discarded product from floors with a scoop and broom, and transport it to proper disposal areas; do not hose solids down drains.
• Keep water usage to a minimum.
• Wash walls and floors as needed with a pressure washer.
• Clean lint, dust, oil, and grease from equipment, overhead pipes, and conveyors.
• Clean screens and filters.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) before commencing work.
• Follow all safety guidelines set forth by the company.
