About The Position

CC Holdings is hiring sandwich artist/cashiers for its Au Bon Pain Café located in Methodist Hospital. The role involves preparing sandwiches, wraps, salads, and protein bowls according to recipes and Au Bon Pain standards, and preparing orders in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. The sandwich artist maintains and stocks their station and follows food-safety requirements. Cashier duties include processing cash, debit, and credit card transactions through a point-of-sale system, entering purchases, making change, and balancing the cash drawer. Strong customer-service skills are required. The café offers shifts seven days a week, with listed schedules of 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m.–10:45 p.m., and 5:00 p.m.–10:45 p.m. Shifts vary, and flexibility is required. Applicants must provide documentation of full vaccination or have a medical or religious exemption.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

Prior sandwich artist, cashier, or customer-service representative experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Set up the station according to café guidelines and arrive in proper uniform while adhering to grooming standards.
Prepare food items as directed, following recipes, portion-control and presentation specifications, and food-allergy or intolerance needs.
Restock items as needed and maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and organized station.
Use and maintain station equipment properly and follow food-safety, sanitation, and safe-food-handling procedures.
Prepare orders at an efficient and consistent pace.
Process cash, debit, and credit card transactions and follow cash-handling procedures.
Correctly record orders, receive and give change, and count the cash drawer.
Thank customers, invite them to return, and inform them about products, promotions, and other services through suggestive selling.
Serve as a role model for customers and staff and help provide on-the-job training for new barista/cashiers.
Work with the team to support café operations, standards, and concept.
Assist with other tasks when asked.
Perform the essential duties of the position, including cleaning surfaces and floors and properly covering and storing food.
