The Sample Preparation Technician is responsible for proper preparation of mineral samples for analysis in accordance with all applicable standards and company procedures. This role involves working under immediate supervision and preparing mineral samples such as coal, iron ore, limestone, and petroleum coke by crushing them according to required published standards using various crusher models. The technician will also transfer and label samples, identify dates, manage associated paperwork, file and locate samples, perform routine and preventive maintenance on preparation equipment, and accurately record all data related to sample preparation. Additionally, the role requires ensuring all equipment and containers are organized and cleaned, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, and ensuring compliance with all local and federal safety processes and procedures. Responsibilities may extend to Field Operation or Laboratory duties based on business needs, and adherence to internal standards, policies, and procedures is expected. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
