About The Position

SoundExchange seeks a Salesforce Developer to design, build, maintain, and enhance scalable Salesforce solutions and integrations supporting account management and customer service operations. The developer translates business requirements into secure, maintainable solutions, integrates Salesforce with existing systems, ensures data quality, reliability, and security, and provides ongoing technical support for production applications. The role calls for hands-on Salesforce development and configuration experience, complex solution-design skills, collaboration with technical and business stakeholders, and the ability to support reliable production applications.

The position is in the Technology department and may be based in Washington, DC, or anywhere in the continental United States. Remote hires are expected to travel to the Washington, DC corporate office as needed, approximately two to four times per year. The role reports to the Director, Engineering and has no supervisory responsibilities. The stated pay range is $115,000 to $135,000.

Requirements

• Proficient in Salesforce administration and development concepts, including Lightning Experience, Lightning Web Components, Flow, security and sharing, and platform configuration.
• Proficiency with Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, SOSL, Salesforce APIs, asynchronous processing, and declarative automation; familiarity with Visualforce for supporting legacy solutions.
• Understanding of the Salesforce data model, including standard and custom objects, relationships, fields, data quality, data migration, and governance practices.
• Ability to influence and communicate effectively with team members and business partners.
• Proficiency in Agile software development methodology, processes, and practices.
• Experience with Salesforce testing and release-management practices, including Apex unit tests, automated regression testing, source control, code review, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Knowledge of Salesforce integration patterns, REST and SOAP APIs, authentication mechanisms, middleware, error handling, and integration monitoring.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in Salesforce development.

Nice To Haves

• Experience developing, integrating, or supporting Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and deploy scalable Salesforce solutions that meet documented business and technical requirements.
• Participate throughout the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, code review, testing, documentation, deployment, and production support.
• Support, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing Salesforce applications to improve reliability, performance, usability, and maintainability.
• Design, build, document, monitor, and maintain secure integrations between Salesforce and other applications using APIs, web services, and event-based integration patterns.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and other developers to identify and implement system improvements.
• Apply Salesforce security, privacy, and development standards, including appropriate access controls, secure coding practices, and protection of sensitive data.
• Collaborate with integrated teams to ensure smooth data flow with minimal interruptions or disruptions.
