About The Position

This is a seasonal commission sales role in Nordstrom's Jewelry, Handbags, Accessories & Luggage department at The Village at Corte Madera. The role focuses on providing excellent customer service, meeting sales goals, building customer relationships, and helping customers select accessories that suit their style and everyday needs. Sales associates use fashion and product expertise to advise customers and explain product features, materials, craftsmanship, and brand differences. Associates deliver Nordstrom's 5-Point Selling Standard, develop a personal customer base through in-store interactions, outreach, and digital tools, and provide confident style and fit feedback. They are accountable for personal sales goals and help keep the department customer-ready through stocking, re-merchandising, markdowns, merchandise recovery, and participation in bi-annual inventory. The role requires product and trend knowledge, teamwork, a flexible schedule that accommodates business needs, and follow-up with customers using the 2-2-2 Method, Nordy Club enrollment, and Personal Book. Hours vary by week and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and event shifts. Occasional flexibility to support other departments may be required. The position involves continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, frequent use of hands, handling bulky or awkward merchandise, regularly lifting up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds. The listed pay is $20.60 per hour; commission for accessories typically ranges from 3% to 14.5%. The position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses.
