About The Position

The Sales Teammate’s primary responsibility is to fulfill Buckle’s mission of creating the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for Guests. Teammates perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management, including cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine facility cleaning. The position has no supervisory responsibilities, and no prior experience or training is required. This is a part-time role at a new store opening at Tanger Outlets in Pooler, Georgia. Interviews were planned to begin in mid-August, with the store opening in mid-September. The role requires a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and the day of and day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, based on store and business needs. Teammates regularly work in a retail store with a usually moderate noise level.

Requirements

No prior experience or training required.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and the day of and day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, based on store and business needs.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, handling and reaching, climbing or balancing and jumping, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and talking or hearing.
Physical ability to lift and maneuver 30 pounds throughout the store and backroom.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Greet Guests in a friendly, engaging manner and provide legendary service throughout the store.
Answer questions about the store and merchandise; recommend, select, locate, or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs and preferences.
Suggest additional items, create wardrobing experiences, demonstrate products, and share product knowledge and sales education with the Team.
Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, payment and exchange policies, and security practices.
Meet personal sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
Serve Guests in the Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area; assist with trying on or fitting merchandise, checkout, bagging, and alterations preparation.
Handle exchanges and returns, place special orders, and contact other stores to locate merchandise.
Build Guest relationships and client-based business, and meet Guest loyalty and business-builder performance standards, including fit appointments, Buckle credit card, and Guest Connect.
Complete the Sales Presentation Guide daily and look for opportunities to improve Teammates’ presentations.
Recognize recruiting opportunities using Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals, and Teammate Recommend; create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred.
Maintain a professional and respectful attitude and contribute to a positive floor culture.
Present merchandise to maximize sales and merchandise turn; stay current on product range and provide feedback about product improvements and ideas.
Keep the sales floor sized appropriately and display new freight appropriately.
Open and close cash registers; process cash, charge slips, coupons, and vouchers; balance drawers and make deposits.
Recognize security risks and theft, follow Loss Prevention guidelines including daily bag and purse checks, and follow payment, exchange, and POS procedures.
Perform merchandising tasks, including freight handling, re-merchandising, display preparation, price markdowns, and transfers.
Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store.
Share merchandise-handling concerns with the Store Manager and promptly communicate policy violations or Teammate or Guest concerns to the Store Manager, District Manager, and/or Human Resources confidentially.
Understand and apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics, policies, procedures, and handbooks.
Perform assigned special projects and other duties.
