About The Position

This entry-level, part-time Sales Support position is based at Fastenal’s in-plant store at 1600 W Phelps St, Springfield, MO 65802. The role supports customers and branch operations in a fast-paced environment, with varied service-based duties. A flexible schedule may be available after onboarding and training and upon meeting performance goals. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., up to 28 hours per week. Fastenal describes itself as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies with more than 3,000 servicing locations. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age due to the nature of the work.
Possess or be working toward a degree in Business or Marketing, or have related industry experience and knowledge of the local market.
Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Have proficient computer skills.
Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
Exhibit a strong aptitude for sales and a desire to sell.
Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer-service-oriented.
Demonstrate the company’s core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Be able to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and sometimes up to 75 pounds.
Pass the required drug screen in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Guam.

Nice To Haves

Possess a current, valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located, including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program, and be able to meet the company’s driving-record requirements to use a company vehicle as needed.
