About The Position

Goodwill Industries--Knoxville, Inc. is seeking two full-time Sales/Production Associates for its retail store in Oak Ridge. This regular, non-exempt position pays $10 per hour. The role involves customer service, sales, cashiering, stocking, sorting, inventory management, sizing, color coordination, and cleaning. Ideal candidates are energetic and flexible, have excellent customer service skills, and can pass a pre-employment drug screen. Associates receive donations; process clothing, household goods, and other merchandise; conduct sales transactions; maintain the cleanliness of the store; and assist customers. The position requires a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, PTO, a 403B plan, and a 20% discount at Goodwill stores.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Consistent punctuality and attendance.
Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods; handle items; reach; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Greet donors, accept and unload donated materials, and thank donors for their donations.
Sort, separate, and hang clothing and household items; sort, test, clean, and mark small appliances, housewares, shoes, seasonal items, and other merchandise.
Conduct sales transactions and handle cash and credit card transactions according to procedures for voids, discounts, refunds, checks, and card payments.
Clean floors, shelves, windows, the break room, store fixtures, fitting rooms, the dock area, the store exterior, merchandise counters, and other areas; report issues requiring maintenance repairs.
Assist customers, price merchandise, support fitting-room operations, offer recycling bags, explain store operations, and use sales techniques that may enhance sales and the store’s community image.
Work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
