Sales Planning Analyst, Business Management Office

Cirrascale Cloud Services•San Diego, CA
•$145,000 - $185,000

About The Position

The Sales Planning Analyst is a senior individual contributor in Revenue Operations responsible for integrating five independently owned forecasts—Sales, Sales Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Customer Success—into a reconciled capacity plan. The role runs capacity planning for GPU inventory, data center space, and power; owns the backstop program that helps secure new capacity; and operates the business management office cadence that aligns demand, supply, and commitments. It reports to the Head of Revenue Operations and works closely with Sales, Sales Engineering, Alliances, Finance, Customer Success, Operations, and data center and infrastructure teams. The role owns its work end to end and influences cross-functional partners without direct authority. The position establishes forecast processes, definitions, submission schedules, and recurring S&OP reviews; resolves discrepancies among functional forecasts; tracks accuracy; and maintains the integrated forecast as the capacity-planning source of truth. It builds medium-range demand models, reconciles demand with inventory, orders, vendor lead times, sites, and deployment realities, and supports allocation decisions and sales commitments. It also maintains capacity data and reporting, models scenarios, and surfaces constraints and risks early. The role leads complex cross-functional programs from definition through delivery and retrospective, including planning, dependencies, risks, resourcing, change management, and follow-through. It owns the backstop program and pipeline, partnering with Alliances, the CRO, and Finance to turn partner discussions into secured capacity. It runs the operating rhythm for capacity planning, produces executive- and board-ready reporting, documents processes and decision rights, and helps systematize capacity data capture.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience spanning capacity planning, demand or supply planning, technical program management, or business operations in a hardware-intensive or infrastructure environment.
  • Experience running an S&OP or integrated business planning process across multiple functions and reconciling independently owned forecasts into one plan.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex cross-functional programs from definition through delivery, including programs with significant systems or data components.
  • Direct experience planning capacity for large-scale technical infrastructure such as cloud, neocloud, data center, HPC, or a comparable internal platform.
  • Proficiency in program management practices and tooling, including building plans, tracking dependencies, running planning cadences, and managing risk.
  • Ability to build models directly; advanced Excel is required and SQL is strongly preferred.
  • Experience building models with messy source data and reconciling figures or explaining variances.
  • Working understanding of data center resource classes and the constraints beyond headline chip count.
  • Ability to translate analysis into action.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical and operational detail to sales and executive leadership.
  • Track record of influencing without authority and building alignment across teams with competing priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, financial, or operational field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Data center or colocation delivery experience, including power and space planning, site acceptance, energization timelines, and vendor management.
  • Experience with GPU or accelerator fleets, procurement lead times, and hardware generation transitions.
  • Familiarity with capacity commitments, reserved capacity structures, or private offers with cloud and neocloud providers.
  • Exposure to project or asset financing, debt structures, or partner-backed capital arrangements.
  • Experience building a program management framework or programs function in a rapidly scaling organization.
  • Proficiency with program management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent.
  • Comfort operating in a high-growth environment with evolving processes and cross-functional ambiguity.
  • Preference for simple, inspectable models and measuring forecast error.
  • Experience automating refreshes instead of rebuilding reports by hand.
  • Autonomy, initiative, and ability to drive work to resolution without waiting for perfect information.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the integrated capacity forecast assembled from Sales, Sales Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Customer Success inputs.
  • Establish forecast cadence, templates, data definitions, and submission deadlines; reconcile forecast conflicts and quantify their consequences.
  • Run recurring S&OP reviews, document decisions, track forecast accuracy, and drive improvements with the functions that own each input.
  • Lead cross-functional programs end to end, including scope, success metrics, milestones, dependencies, risks, resourcing, status reporting, change management, and post-launch review.
  • Own the backstop program, including partner pipeline, qualification criteria, deal structures, stage definitions, capacity forecasts, and executive reporting.
  • Build and maintain medium-range demand forecasts for GPU capacity, data center space, and power based on pipeline, quote flow, and committed contracts.
  • Translate opportunities and quotes into capacity requirements by product family, site, quarter, and power envelope; distinguish forecast, plan, and allocation.
  • Qualify incoming capacity against demand and model scenarios and sensitivities for changes in site timing or deal timing.
  • Reconcile demand against orders, inventory, inbound supply, and vendor lead times; maintain the canonical capacity data layer.
  • Run plan-versus-reality reviews, identify stale or unrecorded allocations, investigate discrepancies, and close data gaps.
  • Operate the capacity allocation process and support sales teams and Deal Desk on capacity availability, site, timeline, power envelope, and deal commitments.
  • Develop a defensible prioritization framework and escalate capacity conflicts early with recommendations.
  • Run capacity operating reviews and maintain automatically refreshed capacity views and dashboards for planning, procurement, and leadership.
  • Produce executive- and board-ready reporting on capacity position, constraint risk, and backstop pipeline.
  • Document processes, decision rights, and data definitions to an auditable standard.
  • Coordinate across commercial and technical teams, translate requirements in both directions, and influence without authority.
  • Partner with Revenue Operations and data teams to systematize capacity data capture at the point of quote.
