About The Position

Horizon Services Inc. is seeking a Sales Manager to execute sales strategies for their branch. This role is a "working sales leader" who can ride along with their team and assist in closing business. The Sales Manager will collaborate with peers and senior managers to develop company strategy and will define, implement, and monitor their sales team's performance on key performance indicators such as revenue vs. plan, quote closure, and gross profit percentage. The Sales Manager will be expected to anticipate and quickly respond to changes in performance to ensure long-term success against budget and sustained functional KPIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business or Marketing
  • 5 years' experience managing a sales team
  • Must have drive and ability to excel in a fast-paced, competitive sales environment.
  • Strong presentation and customer service skills required.
  • Strong relationship management skills with employees and customers required.
  • Strong negotiation skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet sales quotas and deadlines, and use good judgment in performing conflicting demands and managing priorities.
  • Strong initiative with ability to seek out relevant information prior to making timely decisions.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with the internet required.
  • Must have strong ethics and work as an effective, collaborative team member.

Responsibilities

  • Exercising strong, proactive, and strategic leadership of their team of direct reports to achieve/exceed sales goals.
  • Ensuring the Horizon sales model is being delivered by their team.
  • Ensuring that company standard operating procedures are being implemented and trained.
  • Maintaining awareness of competitors' initiatives.
  • Creating an aggressive, disciplined, evolving organization that is driven by the company's metrics.
  • Evaluating and increasing the skill level of their team.
  • Selecting, directing, and mentoring top talent.
  • Setting goals and developing specific plans to achieve objectives for growth in coordination with the Vice President and other senior managers.
  • Providing support and accountability for each sales team member in achieving weekly, monthly, and annual objectives for proposals submitted and sales closed.
  • Participating in proposals for new sales opportunities and attending in-home presentations each month to facilitate training and feedback sessions.
  • Leading branch meetings on a regular basis to assist in the focus of activities aimed at developing referrals.
  • Collaborating with the operations department to aid in lead generation training and support of the technician team.
  • Coordinating and/or attending branch and regional sales meetings on a regular basis to monitor and assist in the focus on specific training activities that are aimed at new sales employee development initiatives.
  • Ensuring new customer accounts that have been sold are transitioned to the branch successfully.
