About The Position

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. is searching for a Sales Manager to join its team at its location in Savage, MN or Centerville, MN. In this role the Sales Manager will be responsible for the growth of our sales and rental revenue, market share, territory coverage, and the overall customer experience. This individual should have experience with managing a team, strategic initiatives, construction industry, and customer service. The role will report to the VP of Construction Equipment Sales and will lead a team of Territory Managers covering Central and Southern Minnesota.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the team and sales activities for RMS’ Savage, Centerville, and Byron Territories while continuing to improve & refine sales force capability and effectiveness.
  • Develop a deep understanding of local market conditions, customer businesses, and competitive activity to support Territory Managers in building strong relationships, identifying opportunities, and closing sales.
  • Drive improvement of key sales related metrics such as market share, CRM entries, rental fleet utilization, revenue, pricing, margin achievement, and used equipment operations.
  • Work with Sales Leadership group to identify quantities, specifications, timing, and logistics for inventory ordering and stocking.
  • Assume sales leadership responsibilities, including direct involvement with select strategic accounts, leading and managing the RMS Enterprise Selling Strategy.
  • Create action plans with Territory Managers for (any) accounts not meeting plan, track & report progress.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Become actively involved in industry associations and ensure adequate team coverage at industry events.
  • Create a safe working environment for employees, foster safety improvements and employee involvement.
