About The Position

The Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying and leading annual growth strategies into key markets, managing a group of existing customers, and overseeing pricelist management, customer engagement activities, and organic growth goals. This role involves forecasting orders/sales, following up on quotations, managing the sales funnel, and working incoming leads. The Sales Manager will provide organizational updates through weekly sales calls and monthly business unit updates to the director of sales and marketing. This position requires maintaining sales volume, product mix, and selling price by staying current with market trends, identifying and removing obstacles to closing quotes, and working with various company departments to facilitate new business development. Collaboration with the customer care team on account development and customer satisfaction, as well as with operations and customers on inventory management and establishing favorable credit terms, is essential. The role also involves documenting activity in CRM (D365), supporting website and marketing material updates, and representing the organization to stakeholders. Travel is required approximately one week every 5-6 weeks (15-20%), and attendance at trade shows for representation and market research is expected.

Requirements

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft based programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Ability to work will in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
  • Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
  • Must have a basic understanding of computers.
  • Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
  • Sales and/or sales management experience in the manufacturing sector, preferably related Industrial and/or Pressure Vessels markets.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred with a focus in Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration plus a broad sales/marketing experience of 5 or more years preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous managerial experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills – written and oral.
  • Ability to effectively work with internal and external customers in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and lead annual growth strategies into key markets that show growth potential.
  • Lead other sales members in the organization.
  • Manage a group of existing customers, as needed.
  • Oversee pricelist management, customer engagement activities, organic growth goals and execution.
  • Forecasting orders/sales monthly using CRM and other tools.
  • Following up on quotations and managing the sales funnel for assigned accounts.
  • Work incoming leads from the different marketing channels.
  • Provide organizational updates through a weekly sales call.
  • Provide monthly business unit updates to the director of sales and marketing focused on leads, new business growth, existing business organic growth, and any risks associated with the commercial aspect of the business.
  • Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  • Identifies and works to remove obstacles which prevent quotes from being closed as wins.
  • Works with various company departments to facilitate new business development.
  • Works with customer care team on account development and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Works with operations and customers on inventory management through stocking programs to achieve working capital goals.
  • Establishes favorable credit terms with customers to achieve working capital goals.
  • Keeps management informed of information collected regarding competition, pricing, problems, etc.
  • Documents activity using CRM (D365) on a daily and ongoing basis.
  • Support and facilitate current updates to the website and marketing materials through the corporate marketing team.
  • Represent the organization within each division, customers, and all other stakeholders.
  • Travel required estimated to be one week every 5-6 weeks. (15-20%)
  • Attends trade shows to represent the the organization and/or to perform market research.
