About The Position

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue through the solicitation, development, and management of group, corporate, and association business. This position will actively identify and pursue new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, meeting planners, corporate accounts, and association partners. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated hospitality sales professional with a proven ability to generate leads, close business, build long-term relationships, and achieve revenue goals. This individual will represent the resort in the marketplace and work closely with the Sales, Conference Services, Revenue Management, and Operations teams to deliver exceptional experiences for clients and guests.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of hotel, resort, or hospitality sales experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in group, corporate, and/or association sales strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, develop new business, negotiate contracts, and close sales.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel group sales, meeting and event planning, and the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Experience using CRM systems, sales platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally overnight for sales calls, client meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively solicit and secure group, corporate, association, and other key market segment business to achieve established revenue and sales goals.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of new and repeat business through prospecting, networking, referrals, client outreach, sales calls, and industry events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate decision-makers, meeting planners, association executives, third-party planners, and other key accounts.
  • Conduct outside sales calls, virtual meetings, site inspections, client entertainment, and networking opportunities to generate new business.
  • Respond promptly to sales inquiries and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and effectively negotiate contracts to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Manage the sales process from initial inquiry through contract execution and turnover to the Conference Services and Operations teams.
  • Conduct compelling site tours and presentations that showcase the resort's accommodations, meeting space, dining, amenities, and unique guest experience.
  • Identify opportunities to increase total account value through guest rooms, meetings, food and beverage, spa, recreation, and other resort offerings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date account information, activities, opportunities, and forecasts within the company's CRM and sales systems.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales goals, booking pace, revenue targets, and activity expectations.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry opportunities to identify new business and strategic sales initiatives.
  • Represent the resort at industry events, trade shows, association meetings, networking functions, and client events as needed.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal departments to ensure seamless communication and successful execution of contracted programs.
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings, forecasting, business review meetings, and strategy discussions.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and updates on prospective and confirmed business.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and provide exceptional service to clients throughout the sales process.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
