About The Position

BNL School Pictures is a family-owned photography company serving schools and communities throughout the Northeast. For decades, we've partnered with schools to provide exceptional portrait photography, yearbooks, sports photography, graduation services, and innovative solutions that help schools celebrate their students and create lasting memories. As we continue to grow, we're seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead both sales efforts and the development of our school partnership team. This is an ideal opportunity for experienced school photography sales leaders who want the ability to make a direct impact on a growing organization while helping shape the future of our sales strategy. This role combines individual sales responsibility with leadership of a developing sales organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and growing key accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and coaching a team of sales professionals to achieve ambitious growth goals. Position Summary The Sales Manager will lead territory growth initiatives, oversee key customer relationships, drive customer retention, and provide leadership to the sales team. This individual will work closely with executive leadership, operations, photography, and customer service teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience while expanding market share. The ideal candidate is a proven relationship builder, strategic thinker, coach, and leader who thrives on developing both people and business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven success in sales leadership and team development
  • Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills
  • Experience managing customer portfolios and complex sales cycles
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching abilities
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve goals
  • Experience working independently while collaborating across departments
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel throughout assigned territories
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of sales, territory management, account management, or business development experience
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring sales teams
  • Experience with school portrait photography, yearbooks, educational services, or territory sales is highly valued
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales and retention goals
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required based on experience

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, onboard, train, and develop sales representatives
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance management
  • Establish sales goals and performance expectations
  • Monitor pipeline activity, forecasting, and territory performance
  • Develop and implement sales strategies that support company growth objectives
  • Create a culture of accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and sales team development sessions
  • Manage strategic school accounts and key customer relationships
  • Identify and secure new school partnerships
  • Conduct presentations and meetings with school administrators and decision-makers
  • Develop proposals, negotiate agreements, and close new business opportunities
  • Ensure strong customer retention through proactive relationship management
  • Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts
  • Analyze market opportunities and competitive trends
  • Develop territory growth plans and sales initiatives
  • Collaborate with operations and photography leadership to ensure successful execution
  • Represent BNL School Pictures at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
  • Provide regular reporting on sales performance, forecasts, and market conditions
