About The Position

This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we’ve announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. SoftBank is a globally recognized technology group and investor/operator focused on AI, robotics, and next-generation computing. The work model for the role is: onsite / remote / hybrid. This role is contributes to the Robotics Business Segment – Consumer Industries in DACH. Main stakeholders are Sales, System Integrators, Channel Partners, Product Management, Regional and Global Business Line Management, and regional/country sales organizations.

Requirements

  • Immersed in front-end sales methodologies, solution & value selling approaches, and stakeholder-oriented sales processes and the industrial automation / robotics / manufacturing market.
  • Several years of experience in sales, business development, or commercial leadership roles within an international environment, including proven initial people leadership responsibility.
  • Highly adept in working within a matrix organization and collaborating with global teams.
  • Degree in Bachelor’s in engineering, industrial engineering, business administration, or a comparable field.
  • At ease communicating in German and English (French and Italian are a plus).
  • Willing to travel approximately 60%, primarily within the DACH region.
  • Hold a current driving license valid in DACH and a valid work permit where required.

Responsibilities

  • Adapt and implement the sales strategy for the designated area, in line with the global sales strategy.
  • Lead, develop, and coach a field-based sales organization, enabling a professional and sustainable front-end sales approach across direct and indirect channels in the DACH region.
  • Drive sales development through the definition and execution of a regional sales strategy aligned with global business line objectives.
  • Operate in a multi-channel sales environment, working both in direct end customer engagement and indirectly via system integrators and partners.
  • Translate global sales and business line strategies into effective local and regional execution within a matrix organization.
  • Drive long-term business development and sustainable growth across the DACH region.
  • Lead and develop a geographically distributed field sales organization, fostering a modern, cooperative leadership culture.
  • Manage front-end sales activities across direct and indirect channels.
  • Steer front-end sales activities across direct and indirect channels and ensuring consistent sales execution.
  • Represent the DACH region in close alignment with global stakeholders and contributing regional market input to global strategy discussions.
