About The Position

HP Tuners LLC is a global leader in the automotive aftermarket, developing hardware and software for vehicle calibration. This role will be responsible for developing and executing the go-to-market strategy, building customer relationships, and driving revenue across both B2B and B2C channels for HP Tuners Core product line. This role will play a key role in positioning the product line for success, establishing a strong market presence, and scaling sales operations. This position will require time onsite in Buffalo Grove, Illinois as well as the expected travel time listed below. This position reports to the Director of Powertrain Engineering.

Requirements

  • Typically require a high school diploma or GED and 6 or more years of work experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Assume responsibility for very complex issues while continuously improving skill base and referring only the most exceptionally complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Perform work effectively with a high degree of latitude, requiring no oversight.
  • Valid permanent driver’s license from state of residence and a clean driving record.
  • Valid passport.
  • Ability to work anywhere.
  • Passion for emerging automotive technologies and engine performance.
  • Expert-level proficiency in the following:
  • Client Relationship Management: Foster and maintain client relationships by actively listening to their needs, resolving complaints through detailed investigation, formulating effective solutions, and providing recommendations to management.
  • Sales Target Optimization: Focus sales efforts by analyzing existing and potential customer volume to optimize targeting.
  • Lead Generation and Prospecting: Cold call, self-source leads, overcome objections, and secure business opportunities.
  • Customer Engagement and Communication: Email, call, or travel to prospective and existing customers to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Sales Data Analysis: R egularly review customer data, including sales trends, new product adoption, and satisfaction metrics, to refine revenue growth strategies and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Sales Metrics Management: Support the dissemination and management of sales data, including ACES and PIES metrics for market analysis.
  • Product Knowledge and Sales Strategy: Maintain an understanding of the company’s product portfolio and competitive offerings to effectively communicate value.
  • Competitive Analysis and Strategy Development: Recommend changes in products, services, and policies by evaluating results and identifying competitive developments and marketplace opportunities.
  • Presentation Delivery: Prepare, update, and present corporate and product materials to educate customers and inspire enthusiasm.
  • Product Demonstration: Develop, improve, and perform onsite and virtual customer product demonstrations.
  • Negotiation and Closing Techniques: Handle objections, negotiate contracts, and close deals efficiently.
  • Strategic Thinking: Possess strategic mindset to anticipate the business's evolving needs and broader goals related to technical support services.
  • Event and Trade Show Coordination: Organize and represent the company at trade shows, races, and promotional events.
  • Industry Trend Awareness: Keep up with emerging automotive technologies, engine/performance advancements, and shifts in consumer behavior to maintain competitiveness.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel with laptop, climb in and out of low and high vehicles, carry items from one area to another, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Noise level is usually moderate and can be loud at times. Active listening and speaking are required. During many events, shows, and customer visits ambient temperature may be uncomfortably hot or cold.

Responsibilities

  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships by actively listening to their needs, resolving complaints through detailed investigation, formulating effective solutions, and providing recommendations to management.
  • Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of Customers.
  • Skillfully cold-call, self-source leads, overcome challenging objections, secure appointments as well as maintain a comprehensive list of new business opportunities/prospects, prioritize effectively, and actively secure new business for the company.
  • Email, call or travel to prospective/existing customers to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Regularly review data (e.g., sales, new product adoption, satisfaction, etc.) from existing accounts to identify priorities and implement strategies to drive revenue growth and improve overall customer satisfaction.
  • Support the dissemination and management of sales data, including ACES and PIES metrics, to the marketplace.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of HP Tuners’ product portfolio and competing products.
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policies by evaluating results and identifying competitive developments as well as marketplace opportunities.
  • Prepare, update, and present corporate and product presentations to effectively communicate key messages and developments, while inspiring enthusiasm by highlighting the value of HP Tuners’ products.
  • Develop, improve, and perform onsite and virtual customer product demonstrations.
  • Attend and work assigned trade shows, races, and other promotional events.
  • Support processing orders and collecting payments.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, including daily call reports, weekly work plans, agenda, travel plan, and monthly sales analyses.
  • Up to 45% of local and overnight travel is required. Occasional weekend travel may be required. Occasional international travel may be required.
