About The Position

The Sales Leadership Program is a 12-month development program designed to immerse participants in LG&E business operations and cultivate leadership skills. This program combines on-the-job experiences, project assignments, and formal training. Participants will lead and manage special projects focused on sales execution, providing support to a general sales manager and their team of territory managers. The role involves collaborating within a team to create customer-centric solutions and sales strategies, troubleshooting customer issues onsite, recommending solutions, and demonstrating products and applications. Additionally, the role includes cold calling to generate new business, managing a portfolio of customer accounts through sales promotion and negotiation of supply agreements, and maintaining strong customer relationships while adhering to company policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or Communications.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience including internships.
  • Demonstrated leadership through campus activities, clubs, sports, or community involvement.
  • Exhibit innovation, flexibility, commitment, ambition, and determination in your work approach.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and adapt quickly to changing situations with strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to support daily tasks and presentations.
  • Model high standards of honesty and integrity in all professional interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in a 12-month development program to learn LG&E business operations and develop leadership skills through on-the-job experiences, project assignments, and formal training.
  • Lead and administer special projects in sales execution supporting a general sales manager and their team of territory managers.
  • Collaborate in a team environment to develop customer-focused solutions and sales strategies.
  • Troubleshoot specific customer problems onsite, sharing technical knowledge and recommending effective solutions.
  • Demonstrate products and applications to new account customers or assist senior sales professionals in customer demonstrations.
  • Engage in cold calling both onsite and via phone to potential customers to generate new business.
  • Supervise a portfolio of customer accounts by promoting sales, negotiating product supply agreements, and providing dedicated account service.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers to meet their needs while ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
