The Sales Floor Department Supervisor leads and enables a team of associates to deliver a strong customer experience. The role includes coaching and training associates, delegating and following up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage. Supervisors support customer-facing activities such as greeting customers, identifying needs and solutions, and closing sales, as well as non-customer-facing work such as down stocking, inventory management, and area recovery. They also promote store safety by conducting safety walks, reporting hazards, and communicating safety and lifting directions. The supervisor works with leaders to identify approaches and behaviors that support sales and service objectives, then communicates best practices to the team to encourage customer-focused behavior and goal attainment. They may supervise associates in other departments as needed, requiring broad product knowledge and the ability to engage associates and customers across departments. The role also requires communicating concerns, issues, praise, and morale to management. Individuals may occasionally open or close the store or serve as manager-on-duty. The position does not require regular travel, though occasional travel may be needed for meetings, training, or support of neighboring stores or outlets. The position is hourly and generally scheduled for 39 to 40 hours per week; additional hours may be required based on store needs. Morning, afternoon, and evening availability is required any day of the week.
