The Sales Floor Department Supervisor leads and enables a team of associates to deliver a strong customer experience. The role includes coaching and training associates, delegating and following up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage. Supervisors support both customer-facing work—such as greeting customers, identifying needs and solutions, and closing sales—and non-customer-facing work, including down stocking, inventory management, and area recovery. The supervisor helps maintain a clean, safe, and stocked store; supports associates with resources and tools; provides input into merchandising decisions; and monitors safe use of store power equipment, including coaching on safe behaviors and lifting techniques. The role also includes safety walks and reporting hazards. Supervisors work with leaders to identify and communicate approaches that support sales and service objectives, and may supervise associates in other departments as needed. They keep management informed of concerns, issues, praise, and morale. They may occasionally open or close the store or serve as manager-on-duty. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel may be needed for meetings, training, or support of neighboring stores or outlets. The position is hourly and full-time, generally scheduled for 39 to 40 hours per week, with additional hours possible based on store needs. Morning, afternoon, and evening availability is required any day of the week.
