About The Position

Perion is a global advertising technology company delivering solutions to the biggest brands and publishers around the globe across search, social media and display, video, CTV, and programmatic DOOH. Home to an award-winning technology solution –– with our unique data-driven AI/ML based technologies, we deliver and optimize hundreds of terabytes of data and billions of events per day. We’re working with dozens of sources to provide a superior experience across screens and platforms, including mobile, video, social and native. We’re hiring a Sales Engineer in the NYC metro area to be the technical authority in front of brand clients. This is not a platform or agency sale—your audience is the technical and product leadership inside major US brands: the programmatic directors, ad-ops leads, data engineers, and CTOs who need to be convinced that Outmax’s AI is genuinely differentiated before they open their stack to a new vendor. You’ll own the technical narrative from first meeting to live integration. That means deconstructing our ML pipeline, auction-optimization logic, and measurement methodology in a way that earns the trust of skeptical technical buyers—then staying hands-on through deployment to make sure the numbers prove the story right.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in a Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Account Management role in adtech, martech, or a related data/ML-product company.
  • Deep knowledge of programmatic advertising mechanics: RTB/OpenRTB, header bidding (Prebid), DSP/SSP auction dynamics, supply-path optimization.
  • Proven ability to earn technical credibility with product and engineering teams inside large organizations—not just media buyers.
  • Hands-on comfort with JavaScript/pixel debugging, tag management (GTM, Tealium), and HTTP-inspection tools (Charles Proxy, browser DevTools).
  • Ability to discuss ML model outputs intelligently: A/B test design, lift measurement, AUC, attribution methodology.
  • Strong communicator who can present to a CTO, a VP of Programmatic, and a brand CMO with equal clarity and credibility.
  • Direct experience selling or deploying adtech products into brand-side teams (as opposed to agency-only experience).
  • Familiarity with carbon-measurement frameworks in digital advertising (Scope3, Ad Net Zero).
  • Working proficiency in Python or SQL for ad-hoc data analysis and building custom client reports.
  • Prior exposure to positioning AI/ML products to non-AI-native buyers—making the technology tangible without dumbing it down.
  • Relationships or experience with Fortune 500 brand programmatic teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead deep-dive technical sessions with brand product, engineering, and data-science teams to demonstrate how Outmax’s ML models work under the hood—not just what they do, but why the architecture is superior.
  • Translate complex concepts (bidding algorithms, supply-path optimization, real-time auction dynamics, carbon-aware bidding) into clear, credible narratives tailored to technical stakeholders.
  • Build custom proof-of-concept environments and live-data demos that let brand teams validate Outmax’s performance claims against their own KPIs before committing.
  • Develop and present competitive tear-downs showing Outmax’s technical advantages versus incumbent optimization vendors the brand already uses.
  • Map each brand’s programmatic architecture (DSPs, CDPs, ad servers, first-party data pipes) and design the optimal Outmax integration path.
  • Own the technical onboarding end-to-end: tag deployment, pixel configuration, bid-model calibration, data-feed validation, and QA.
  • Partner with Outmax Product Engineering to troubleshoot edge cases in header-bidding environments, cookie-less targeting, and data-pipeline latency.
  • Create and maintain integration playbooks and reference architectures specific to the most common brand tech stacks.
  • Monitor live campaign dashboards and proactively surface optimization insights to brand teams, reinforcing confidence in the technology.
  • Prepare and deliver data-driven performance reviews with brand technical stakeholders, covering attribution, model lift, and efficiency gains.
  • Serve as the senior technical escalation point, coordinating with Engineering and Data Science to resolve issues fast and transparently.
  • Turn successful deployments into reproducible case studies and technical testimonials that accelerate the next brand conversation.
  • Channel structured brand feedback—integration friction, feature gaps, competitive threats—directly into the Product roadmap.
  • Produce technical sales collateral: architecture diagrams, whitepapers, integration one-pagers, and recorded demo walkthroughs.
  • Represent Outmax at brand-facing industry events and webinars as a subject-matter expert on AI-driven programmatic optimization.
