About The Position

Morris Group, Inc., a third-generation, family-owned business and one of North America's largest machine tool distributors, is seeking a Sales Engineer for its Technical Equipment division. Technical Equipment is a key distributor of advanced machine tools and related technology serving manufacturers in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The company's mission is to help manufacturers maintain a competitive advantage by improving productivity through sophisticated automated machine tools and robotics. This role is a full-cycle sales position focused on the Northern Ohio territory, selling Makino Horizontal, Vertical, and 5 Axis machines, as well as Wire and Sinker EDMs. The Sales Engineer will work with internal support departments and suppliers to provide manufacturing solutions across various industries, including Medical, Aerospace, Tool & Die, Mold, Industrial, and Job Shop.

Requirements

  • Strong passion for the sales process from discovery to closing stages.
  • Strong technical background in tool, die and production machining using innovative CNC machines.
  • Strong, professional communication and presentation skills.
  • Basic technical capability.
  • Occasional overnight travel throughout the entire territory is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Industrial sales background is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the full-cycle sales activity in the Northern Ohio territory for all current and future customers.
  • Work with internal support departments and suppliers to provide various manufacturing solutions to the territory.
  • Develop new and strengthen existing relationships with customers, prospects, and suppliers.
  • Generate opportunities for quotation by providing continuous support and recommendations to new and existing customers.
  • Lead projects, demonstrations, and other customer related events to ensure timely completion and efficient prioritization of resources.
  • Prepare and present machine solutions for customer specific applications.
  • Enter activity into the CRM system (Salesforce.com).
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company.
  • Perform related duties as required.
