About The Position

We are looking for a Sales Engineer to support our ICON brand. This role will work out of our Tampa, FL location. Our ICON Technologies brand is a leading provider of low and medium-voltage Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Solid-State Reduced Voltage Motor Control products. We provide sales, field support, and technical assistance in application, troubleshooting, and field upgrades for any brand of VFD or soft-start product. As our Sales Engineer, you will support the sales process by developing estimates, quotations, and proposals that align with company volume and profitability goals. You will review plans, specifications, and requests for quotation to assess project fit, identify potential risks, and evaluate the likelihood of success. You will also work closely with vendors to secure competitive pricing and project-specific support for equipment such as instrumentation, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, and other related components. You will help maintain accurate sales opportunity and forecasting information in Salesforce, coordinate the entry and handoff of new projects with project management, and participate in project kickoff meetings to support clear and timely communication across internal teams, customers, and external partners. In addition, you will provide valuable market feedback related to customer needs, competitive activity, and potential product or service opportunities while supporting other business needs as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience with reading and interpreting electrical/electronic drawings, schematics, technical specifications, and related project documentation.
  • Experience with reviewing and interpreting bid specifications, construction plans, requests for quotation, and other project requirements.
  • Experience with control panel design and/or CAD drafting, including panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and controls documentation.
  • Experience with water/wastewater and/or industrial markets.
  • Experience with industrial automation and electrical equipment, including instrumentation, MCCs, VFDs, control panels, and related components.
  • Experience preparing estimates, quotations, proposals, and bids within an industrial controls, electrical, or automation environment.
  • Experience evaluating project scope, risks, costs, equipment requirements, and vendor needs.
  • Experience collaborating with sales, engineering, project management, vendors, manufacturer representatives, and customers.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • An Associate of Science degree or higher, preferably in a technical or engineering-related field; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
