Invoice Butler•New York, NY
•$70,000 - $130,000•Onsite

About The Position

Invoice Butler is seeking a Founding Sales Development Representative to help build and execute the company's outbound pipeline generation strategy. The role involves identifying companies facing challenges with accounts receivable and collections, breaking into high-value accounts through targeted outbound efforts, and building relationships with key finance stakeholders. The SDR will develop a deep understanding of finance team workflows to create compelling outbound messaging, experiment with new strategies, and collaborate with other departments to refine market positioning and product decisions. This role also includes contributing to the development of sales infrastructure, including prospecting workflows, qualification criteria, and reporting systems. The ideal candidate will find creative ways to engage aspirational accounts through various channels. Invoice Butler is experiencing rapid growth, having achieved over $1M in ARR in under two years. The company operates in a massive market where AI can fundamentally transform accounts receivable processes, which are currently managed through manual methods. The product delivers real, measurable impact by helping customers get paid faster and improving cash flow predictability. This is an opportunity to build the Go-To-Market engine from the ground up, working directly with the CEO in an environment that emphasizes extreme ownership, meaningful upside with competitive compensation and equity, and the chance to grow with the company.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of sales development, business development, or early-stage B2B sales experience.
  • A track record of exceeding your goals and generating meaningful pipeline.
  • Comfortable reaching senior finance executives and can communicate credibly with everyone from an AR Manager to a CFO.
  • Know how to research an account and develop a point of view about why they should care, rather than simply putting them into a sequence.
  • Comfortable operating in an early-stage environment where the playbook is still being written.
  • Want ownership and autonomy rather than a narrowly defined SDR role.
  • Highly organized and meticulous about your pipeline, follow-ups, and CRM data.
  • Experience with modern sales tools like HubSpot, Clay, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar platforms.
  • Excited about AI and how it can transform the way finance teams operate.

Nice To Haves

  • Build relationships with CFOs, Controllers, Heads of Finance, VPs of Finance, Accounts Receivable leaders, and other stakeholders responsible for cash collection.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how finance teams manage receivables today and use that knowledge to create compelling outbound messaging.
  • Experiment constantly with new segments, personas, messaging, channels, and campaigns to figure out what works.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product to turn what you learn in the market into better messaging, positioning, and product decisions.
  • Help build our sales infrastructure, including prospecting workflows, qualification criteria, reporting, and the systems we’ll use as the GTM team scales.
  • Find creative ways into aspirational accounts, whether through research, events, referrals, partners, investors, or completely new approaches we haven’t tried yet.
