About The Position

As an Inside Sales Professional within Owens Corning's Sales Development Program (SDP), you will play a critical role in supporting regional sales teams, developing customer relationships, and driving business growth within the Roofing business. This structured 18-24 month development program is designed to build foundational sales capabilities through hands-on experience, formal training, and direct exposure to customers, products, and territory management strategies. Working alongside Area Sales Managers and key customers, you will gain experience in consultative selling, pricing strategy, customer operations, and market analysis while developing the skills necessary to transition into a field-based sales leadership role. The program is located at World Headquarters in Toledo, OH, with monthly territory travel and customer engagement opportunities. Willingness to relocate following program completion is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, distributors, sheet metal shops, and other key customers.
  • Support regional sales teams by managing customer interactions and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while responding quickly and effectively to customer requests.
  • Educate customers on Owens Corning products, services, and value propositions.
  • Conduct B2B prospecting and professional cold-calling activities to generate new business opportunities.
  • Maintain customer records, contact information, and market intelligence within CRM systems.
  • Attend customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and sales events.
  • Support contractor, distributor, and downstream customer conversion initiatives.
  • Assist with marketing programs, promotional campaigns, and territory growth projects.
  • Manage contractor pipelines and support customer development activities.
  • Prepare customer pricing quotes and support pricing deviation approvals.
  • Analyze market pricing, competitive activity, and industry trends.
  • Utilize sales reporting tools to identify opportunities and monitor business performance.
  • Track projects, leads, and sales opportunities through company sales systems.
  • Gather and communicate competitive intelligence and market feedback to commercial teams.
  • Participate in business initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and cross-functional activities.
  • Develop expertise in Owens Corning's product portfolio and building materials solutions.
  • Learn to communicate value-based selling strategies that differentiate Owens Corning from competitors.
  • Build knowledge of the building materials industry and apply insights to customer conversations and growth opportunities.
