About The Position

The Sales Consultant Trainee helps deliver CarMax’s customer-first vehicle-buying experience. The role focuses on building relationships, understanding customer needs, and helping customers find suitable vehicles. CarMax provides paid training and mentorship; prior auto sales experience is not required. The position is based at the Savannah store in Savannah, Georgia, and is part-time. The hourly rate is $20.00, and the position is eligible for commission.

Part-time associates may be eligible for state-mandated sick time, 8 to 40 hours of vacation per year depending on length of service (subject to a one-year waiting period), and four hours of Floating Holiday Time per calendar year, subject to manager approval.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in finding vehicles that meet their needs using knowledge of CarMax inventory.
• Guide customers through the buying process, including appraisals, test drives, and financing applications.
• Listen actively and provide clear, honest information to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Complete accurate transaction documentation.
• Collaborate with team members to meet customer needs and achieve store goals.
• Maintain a professional, customer-first approach in each interaction.
• Stay informed about CarMax products, services, and promotions.
• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
